question about prepaid cell phone plans plz help!!?

can any cell phone become prepaid? cuz i got a phone with a plan from cingular so i was wondering if i can change it to a prepaid phone for tracfone or some other prepaid service. or do i have to buy a phone from those kits?
You need to buy a specific phone from the company that you are using for prepay. I use Virgin Mobile and they have some killer deals online <www.virginmobileusa.com>

Pre-paid phones are different than regular cell phones. That’s one of the ways that the phone companies persuade people to go with plans: by only allowing crummy/lame phones for prepaid customers.

No, unfortunately not. There is special software in prepaid phones that deducts the minutes off your prepaid plan. You will have to buy a cell phone from the prepaid provider that works on their system. Sorry

you can buy any cingular phone and turn it into a go phone…..meaning go to a cingular store and ask to cancel your service and open a prepaid account…stay with cingular thay have the best service!!!
