Cheapest cell phone plans?

I really really really want a cell phone. Mainly just to use for texting but probably for small amounts of talking. What are the cheapest plans for unlimited texting? Please help!!! Thank you.
ps. i live on the east coast

    I’ve found that T-mobile has the most customizable plans. I think it was something like 19.99 for unlimited text and then to call, I think it’s about the same for 200-400 minutes.

    Most other providers require you to buy the whole data plan, which can be $50-60

    Check their service though. I’ve also heard that Verizon wireless has some affordable options. Stay away from ATT. Sprint is a little more expensive too.
